Ex-Claremont (WA) forward who kicked three goals in his first match, but also needed to work on his game to eliminate errors. He had half a dozen games in 2008 but much of the latter part of the season was wiped out by a shoulder injury. In 2009 he took a major step forward in playing 24 of a possible 25 games and showing whole-hearted commitment as a defender whose tackling was a feature. While not the greatest kick, he extracted the maximum out of himself and always carried out the role that his coach required. No opponent won an easy ball on him and he heeded advice early in 2010 to lift his possession count, capping the season with a premiership medal. He played in the losing 2011 Grand Final side and continued as a quietly effective defender until seriously injuring his knee in the dying minutes of the 2013 Anzac Day game against Essendon and missing the rest of the year.
