A determined and popular backman at Collingwood who many considered was harshly treated when dumped in 1984.
Originally from Ivanhoe Amateurs, he resurrected his career in the WA league with Claremont earning state representation and bobbed up again when the Eagles entered the national league.
He played all but two of the games in the club's first year and had developed into a running defender.
