A splendid ex-Collingwood Districts rover who had plenty of dash and was a delightful stab pass. Not a star player, but a solid contributor who fed the ball well to Dick Lee. Laxton had a sometimes fiery temper.
He played in the losing Grand Final sides of 1915 and 1918, but was in the flag teams of 1917 and 1919 and represented Victoria in 1919 and 1920.
