This was a trophy presented by the owner of the Austral Theatre in Northcote, to the Collingwood player voted by the patrons of the theatre as the best or most consistent during that particular season. Voting took place every Monday night at the theatre and progressive tallies were released to the press to maintain interest. The 1927 winner Jiggy Harris, was a regular member of the side and had played every game in 1929 until dropped for the Grand Final. Bitter at the omission he did not join in the premiership revelry and the following year went to Hawthorn where he was captain-coach for two years and impressed with his play in the centre. Two decades later he returned to Collingwood as an official.
