Match Report

An interesting game took place at Geelong, between the locals and Collingwood. Geelong had the best of the game all through, but the visitors did not appear to be over-exerting themselves. The veteran, Jim Sharp, reappeared with Collingwood, as they were without some of their best players. He hurt his leg, and retired in the second quarter.

Geelong's goal-kicking was very poor, otherwise their score would have been large. The finish was exciting, as Collingwood got within a couple of points of the leaders. Final scores: - GEELONG, 8 goals 17 behinds (65 points), COLLINGWOOD, 9 goals 17 behinds (63 points).

The goal-kickers were: - Geelong - Ellysen, Hodgins, Maguire, Martini (4), and Hagger. Collingwood, Laxton (2), Mutch (2), Dobright, Lumsden (2), McHale.
