A powerfully built key position player who could take a turn in the ruck when need be, White averaged more than a goal per game in his 71 outings for the Swans between 2008 and 2013. He began his first season as a Magpie in fine style, kicking five goals in the NAB Challenge opener against Geelong. He established himself as a regular in the senior side early in the year and finished with 20 goals from 18 games. White played the same number of games in 2015, and finished the season with a career-high tally of 27 goals, despite spending time in the VFL late in the season. Another 16 games and 23 goals followed in 2016 in a season which mirrored the one prior. He called time on his league career at the end of 2017, after playing the first four games of the season.
