From Eastlake, ACT, via NSW/ACT Rams U18s, Fuller showed promise early in 1998 when he booted three goals for Collingwood against Essendon, but he did not produce the goods when the Magpies needed a small goalsneak and he slipped from senior contention. In 1999 he played the bulk of his half-dozen games in mid-season off the interchange bench. Fuller was chosen as a rookie by the Bulldogs in 1999 to provide a back-up option as a midfielder, but he could not earn a senior game in two seasons.
